Potrerillos smelter refractory brick crushing

We provided full-service crushing of refractory bricks at Codelco's Potrerillos smelter, including the mobilization, operation, maintenance, and demobilization of our crushing and screening train. Refractory bricks removed from the smelting furnaces retain metal that impregnates them during their service life, so reducing their size allows them to be returned to the process and that value to be recovered. We processed 100,000 metric tons of minus 5 mm product, working with a very hard and abrasive material that required precise equipment setup and strict gradation control. This service allowed Codelco to turn an industrial waste into an input for metallurgical reprocessing, contributing to the smelter's efficiency and to more sustainable management of its materials.
